Nothing’s Left Galaxy Pale Ale

Here is our first review from Broken Arrow’s Nothing’s Left Brewing Company. This is their first packaged beer, though they have plenty that has been going around on draft at bars and festivals. They’ve put together an American Pale Ale with one of my favorite hops: Galaxy. The can also features a kangaroo in a jetpack, and I’m into that too for some reason. They are contract brewing at Anthem’s Urban Farmhouse Brewery in Oklahoma City, though based in Tulsa/Broken Arrow.

Company: Nothing’s Left Brewing Company

Location: Broken Arrow, OK

ABV: 5.5%

IBUs: 55

Style/Description: American Pale Ale

Price: $9 for a 4 pack of 12 oz cans

Appearance: Cloudy orange straw pour, nice fluffy head and tons of sticky lace.

Nose: Grassy herbaceous hop notes, with some mild resins and black pepper on the nose.

Taste: Sweet citrus notes of grapefruit and tart orange, with some bitter pith and zest tones. Mild pine needles and a hint of dankness. Crisp and light. Some lightly bready and biscuity malts help balance the hops, but mostly stay out of the way.

Finish: Finishes warm and boozy with lingering malty caramel and maybe a hint of licorice? I suspect there might be some star anise in here somewhere.

Overall: Nice beer, tasty and drinkable. The can suggests drinking this on a fishing boat during a sweet ass sunset, I certainly would not disagree with that.

Rating: 3/5
