Age: NAS

ABV: 57.5% ( 115 proof)

Color: Auburn, amber girl.

Nose: Oak, vanilla, cherry, kind of a glazed doughnut smell, yum. Dough-y, yeasty smell. Slight bitter smell at the end, l borderline vinegar-y.

Taste: Totally tastes like a glazed doughnut too, with a bit of cherry. Bread-y and yeast-y and very sweet. Kris thinks it’s like banana nut bread.

Finish: Medium finish.  It has a nice warmth to it, almost hot on your tongue, but also sweet. Eventually, there is a bitterness on the finish.

Overall: The balance is nice, leaning towards sweet. I really like this one. I like sweeter Bourbons though, so this is right up my alley. I think it’s a tad overpriced, well, for Oklahoma anyway. But, supposedly that is the way of things now. So, I will give this Bourbon a thumbs up and drink it.

Glazed doughnuts for days y’all.

Level: Medium

Rating: 4/5

  1. This is one of my favorite bottles! My wife doesn’t drink at all but took a sip and asked me to pour her some. This may work in my favor since I’m almost out and I’ll tell her I need to buy another bottle so she can have some when she wants.

  2. My first sip of this I didn’t really like. But once the bottle got a little oxygen I think it opened really nicely. For 115 proof I find it very smooth too, with a long burn at the end. If the burn was a little less, I’d put it in my top ten that I’ve tasted this year.
